With the Gossip Girl series finale tomorrow evening, I thought this was the perfect time to put together an article about the show’s style star – Blair Waldorf.

She is manipulative, ambitious and insecure (despite an extremely confident exterior) but, no doubts, the most stylish girl from the Upper East Side. If you are an avid fan of the series like me, you must know that I am talking about Queen B. Her outfits are truly a show stopper every time she appears on the screen, and while it is true that the amazing stylist Eric Daman and a limitless budget help immensely, you can be as fabulous as her without much effort (and without emptying your wallet).

Fashion and beauty

The series started following Blair when she was still going to high school, therefore wearing an uniform, but even now that she is out of school, she still rocks her ladylike preppy style. Her hair is loose, her make up minimal but polished, and she is rarely seen without a headband. Bows, pearls, gems, anything goes as long as it is elegant and not tacky.

Don’t let yourself become a slave to the trends. Instead of spending a fortune on the items fresh off the catwalk, rather invest in timeless pieces – a well-cut blazer, blouses in all colours, a feminine handbag, and a nice pencil skirt.

E.L.F. blusher and bronzer compact (£3.75,  here), Benefit Bad Gal mascara (£17, here), Tallulah Tu bow headband (£20 on sale here), Nars velvet gloss lip pencil in ‘Frivolous’ (£17.50, here)Asos elbow-length leather gloves (£45, here)

Be confident!

Above all, the confidence is what really matters. Always keep your head and standards high. Even when you are running late and don’t want to bother spending time on your outfit, put on something nice. Instead of going out in sweats and a worn out jumper, put on some well-fitting jeans, ballet flats, a t-shirt and a blazer. Add a nice headband, spritz on your favourite perfume, and, voilà, you have that Blair Waldorf thing about you.
